It has been reported that social media personality Daw Thet Ko Ko, also known as “Thamee Soe”, who was arrested at Yangon International Airport, is currently being investigated under Section 66(d) of the Telecommunications Law at Pyin Oo Lwin Myoma Police Station.

Daw Thet Ko Ko, originally from Myanmar and now a U.S. citizen, is known for selling consumer products online and for frequently criticizing certain celebrities and public figures through social media.

Due to some of her online comments, Daw A Thin Ko claimed to have suffered personal harm and initially requested a meeting with Thamee Soe when she arrived in Myanmar to resolve matters in person. However, since the meeting did not take place, Daw A Thin Ko filed a legal complaint against her at the Pyin Oo Lwin Myoma Police Station under Section 66(d) of the Telecommunications Law.

Subsequently, when Daw Thet Ko Ko arrived at Yangon Mingaladon Airport on October 12 to depart for Thailand, authorities arrested her.

An official from the police force said, “At the moment, the case has been filed only under Section 66(d). Since it was opened in Pyin Oo Lwin, officers from the Pyin Oo Lwin Myoma Police Station have taken her there. She arrived this morning (October 13).”

Currently, Daw Thet Ko Ko has been officially charged at the Pyin Oo Lwin Myoma Police Station in accordance with Section 66(d) of the Telecommunications Law.

According to investigations, Daw A Thin Ko filed the complaint because Thamee Soe (Daw Thet Ko Ko) allegedly made false and defamatory remarks during Facebook live streams that harmed the dignity and reputation of Daw A Thin Ko’s family, businesses, and personal affairs.
