The Shan State Parliament has approved the appointment of seven ministers to the Shan State Government, it is reported.
The approvals were made during the fifth day of the first regular session of the Third Shan State Parliament, held on Tuesday, April 7. During the session, the list of seven სამინისტ ministries and their respective ministers was submitted to the parliament. As there were no objections, the Speaker announced their approval.
The elected ministers are as follows:
(1) Minister for Security and Border Affairs – Colonel Sein Win
(2) Minister for Planning, Economy and Finance – Dr. La Hseng
(3) Minister for Social Affairs – Daw Nang Kham Hlu
(4) Minister for Electricity, Energy, Industry and Transport – U Khun Than Htoo
(5) Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation – U Lin Aung Swe
(6) Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation – U Sai Wun Hlaing Taik
(7) Minister for Municipal Affairs – U Khun Htun Phyu
In addition, nominations were submitted for the appointment of U Sai Kyaw Zan as Shan State Attorney General and Daw Khin Htwe Yi as Auditor General. With no objections raised, the parliament approved these appointments.
Similarly, U Than Oo Lwin was approved for appointment as Chief Justice of the Shan State High Court, while Daw Sanda Aung, U Aung Maw, and Daw Thuzar Aung were approved as judges of the Shan State High Court, as no objections were raised.
Following the approvals, the Speaker announced the adjournment of the fifth day of the session and stated that the parliament would reconvene on Thursday.
