According to those aiding the flood victims, over 800 residents in Bilin Township have been affected by severe flooding and are in urgent need of clean water, food, and medical supplies.

The flooding in the Bilin River, caused by continuous heavy rainfall and water flowing down from the mountains, has impacted areas along the river, including Bilin Town, from July 25 to July 29.

Six temporary shelters have been set up in Bilin Town to accommodate the flood victims, providing refuge for over 800 people, as reported by one of the relief workers assisting the affected residents.

Additionally, it was reported that, "Currently, donors, charitable organizations, social aid groups, and local authorities are collectively providing clean water, food, and medical supplies to the flood victims. However, as time goes on, more needs may arise."

According to local residents, the Yangon-Mawlamyine highway in Bilin Township is still passable for vehicles, with no flooding reported on the road.

A Bilin resident stated, "If the rain intensifies, the roads might flood. However, once the rain stops, the water recedes. The situation is not yet critical enough to cause lasting flooding."

As of 7 a.m. on July 29, measurements indicate that the Bilin River has risen to 1039 centimeters, surpassing the town's danger level of 1022 centimeters.

Due to the flooding of the Bilin River, villages in the Donwon village tract of Thaton Township, located downstream, are also experiencing severe flooding, with an urgent need for clean water assistance, according to local reports.
