The Information team of the State Administration Council (SAC) issued a statement denying that security forces carried out an airstrike on a school in Ohhteinkwin Village, Debayin Township.
The statement was released in response to reports by exile media outlets claiming that security forces conducted an aerial bombing attack on the school, resulting in the deaths of around 50 students and two teachers.
Regarding the incident, a local security official stated that the reports were false and that security forces were only engaged in maintaining public safety, protecting lives and property, and ensuring regional stability. The official emphasized that security forces do not carry out airstrikes on non-military targets.
The SAC’s statement further clarified that the government prioritizes the education of future generations and is committed to improving academic standards—a fact well-known to the public. It accused terrorist groups of attacking towns and villages that do not support them, using heavy weapons and drones, as well as abducting and killing civilians. The statement alleged that exile media fabricated the story to cover up these acts of terrorism and to mislead the public into distrusting security forces.
