In a bid to address rehabilitation and security matters, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC), yesterday morning visited Loikaw and Hsiseng townships, where heavy fighting had taken place.
Accompanied by cabinet members, the Shan State Chief Minister, and the Commander of Eastern Command, the Senior General inspected rehabilitation efforts in Hsiseng Township, which had suffered damage from clashes involving the Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO), KNDF, and PDF members.
During his visit, the SAC Chairman stressed the importance of continuing development tasks without interruption, warning that halting such efforts would lead to stagnation.
He noted that rebuilding damaged infrastructure can delay progress but emphasized the need for persistence.
In Hsiseng, the Senior General distributed food and aid to local Tatmadaw members, their families, residents, and members of the local people’s militia.
Similarly, in Loikaw, he addressed peace and security measures in the Regional Control Command area, accompanied by senior military officials.
During the inspection, Colonel Aung Kyaw Khine briefed the Chairman on joint security measures being implemented by the Tatmadaw and Myanmar Police Force (MPF) in the region, including actions to counter the KNPP, KNDF, and PDF, the arrest of PDF members, and the seizure of weapons.
Reflecting on the conflict that began in 2021, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing emphasized the importance of solid security measures to restore normalcy in Kayah State.
He urged local residents to work together to prevent the activities of armed groups, as their presence undermines regional peace and stability.
The Senior General also warned that terrorist groups are using civilians as human shields, complicating security operations, and called on residents to stay vigilant.
The meeting was attended by several key officials, including SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Porel Aung Thein, Khun San Lwin, and union ministers.
