SAC chair, Thai Deputy PM discuss border stability, cooperation in eradication of human trafficking, drug trafficking and arms smuggling

Chairman of the State Administration Council Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai of Thailand at the Credentials Hall of the SAC Chair-man Office in Nay Pyi Taw on the afternoon April 21, state-run newspapers reported.

Both sides discussed cooperation among Myanmar, Thailand and Laos in transboundary smog pollution reduction, peace and stability in the border region of both countries, and plans to cooperate in eradication of human trafficking, drug trafficking and arms smuggling.

Also present at the meeting were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Union Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing and officials. The Thai Deputy Prime Minister was accompanied by Thai Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Mongkol Visitstump and officials.

Likewise, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee and Mayor U Tin Lwin Oo met with a delegation led by Mrs. Pornpimol Kanchanalak, adviser to the Thai Foreign Affairs Minister, at the parlour of the committee on the same day.

The mayor extended greetings, and the Thai delegation discussed plans to generate electricity from waste products in the Nay Pyi Taw area.
