Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Senior-General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Director of Joint Operations of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Lt-Gen Jakkapong Janpengpen at Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw on December 27.
Present on the occasion were Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and senior military officers. The Director of Joint Operations of the Royal Thai Armed Forces was accompanied by senior military officers of the Royal Thai Armed Forces and Thai Military Attaché to Myanmar Senior Colonel Thanwit Yomchinda.
They exchanged views on the promotion of existing friendly ties and cooperation between the two countries and two armed forces, cooperation in peace and stability of border region, rule of law, narcotic drug eradication, and eradication of online gambling and online scam and further plans to promote cooperation. They also discussed plans to jointly eradicate online gambling and online scams near Myawady on the Myanmar-Thai border.
They also discussed matters on cooperation between Myanmar and Thailand on political trends and between the two armed forces on security trends for ensuring a secure and smooth border trade process. They also emphasized the promotion of cooperation in humanitarian measures and aid and exchange of information.
