It has been reported that four warships from the Russian Pacific Fleet have arrived in Yangon to participate in the second Myanmar-Russia joint maritime security exercise.
The Russian Pacific Fleet's corvettes—Gromky, Rezky, and Tsydenzhapov—along with the support ship Pechenga, docked at the Thilawa Port in Yangon on October 20 to conduct the joint maritime security exercise and a goodwill visit. Senior officers, soldiers from the Myanmar Navy, and the Russian military attaché to Myanmar, along with other officials, welcomed the Russian ships.
The warships, led by Captain 1st Rank Antsiferov Alexey Vitalievich of the Russian Pacific Fleet, will participate in several activities during their visit. These include touring notable sites in Yangon, hosting friendship sports matches between the two countries, and conducting Harbour Phase exercises based at the port.
