Residents in several townships in Yangon were reportedly staying outside their apartment buildings past midnight on March 29 due to earthquake alerts.

"I was awake past midnight and had just dozed off around 12:30 a.m. Around 12:50 a.m., I was startled awake by noise from neighboring rooms—people were shouting about an earthquake and rushing downstairs. By the time we got down, the area was already crowded with people. After the recent major quake, even the slightest sound makes everyone run outside," said a resident from Botahtaung Township.

Similarly, residents in the Anawmar housing complex in Thaketa Township were also gathered outside their buildings following earthquake warnings.

A resident from the Anawmar neighborhood in Thaketa said, "People are out on the streets, afraid of another earthquake. There are about fifty people on our street alone, and they’re still outside as of 1:15 a.m. on March 30."

Additionally, as of around 1:30 a.m. on March 30, people were seen gathering near the former ministers' office on Theinbyu Street in Yangon, seeking safety due to earthquake concerns.
