Rescue operations are still ongoing in areas that suffered damage due to the earthquake, according to reports.
On March 28 at 12:51:02 PM local time, a powerful earthquake and subsequent aftershocks struck Sagaing Region, Mandalay Region, Magway Region, northeastern Shan State, the Naypyitaw Council Territory, and Bago Region. The tremors caused damage to roads, bridges, and buildings, resulting in casualties and injuries among the local population.
In the affected areas, rescue efforts are being carried out in coordination with military personnel from regional command headquarters, members of the Myanmar Police Force, firefighters, international rescue teams, government staff, social relief organizations, and local volunteers. These teams are working together to provide timely assistance.
