Online sellers, who put marijuana in cookies, were caught, announced the Ministry of Information on March 10.

According to the statement, police raided the apartment on the eighth floor of 16th Street in Lanmadaw Township, Yangon Region according to the tip-off, and Htet Yadana Soe was arrested. After her confession, police arrested Zaw Lin Naung lived at Bahosi Housing in Lanmadaw Township and seized 109 grams of cannabis powder, 50 cannabis-infused cookies and a chillum pipe used to inhale marijuana.

According to the testimony of those who were arrested, they had put marijuana in cookies and sold them online. Depending on the amount of marijuana added, each cookie is sold from 6,000 kyats to 10,000 kyats. They said that the marijuana was ordered online from Myawady and transported by passenger vehicles. To make the cookies they sell popular and to encourage students and young people to use drugs, they add marijuana to the cookies and sold through online.

Those who buy and consume these cookies can cause a lot of physical and mental damage, and they mistakenly think that it will increase energy and make to lose the desire to sleep when they start eating, but later they will have less appetite, losing weight, muscle stiffness, rapid breathing, lack of concentration, memory deterioration and irritability, in addition to as the period of consumption increases, mental and physical addiction is formed so that if they don't eat more, they will feel adverse effects such as anxiety, restlessness, depression, getting sick, hemorrhage in the brain, shortness of breath, heart failure and eventually died suddenly, it said.

The authorities will continue to take effective action against the perpetrators who put marijuana in cookies and sold them, announced the Ministry of Information.
