(The Star/ANN) - Augmented reality monster catching game Pok?mon Go is having its first Safari Zone in South-East Asia at Sentosa, the island resort off Singapore.

Game maker Niantic says the event will run for five days from April 18 and participating players will be able to catch rare and unusual Pok?mon like regional specific Tropius to Unown and shiny versions of Shuckle.

Previous Safari Day events have taken place all over the world from Porto Alegre, Brazil; to Tainan, Taiwan and Yokosuka, Japan, though this is the first time it has been planned nearby Malaysia.

To take part, players will need to register on this microsite between 9am March 5, to 11.59pm, March 7. Players can only register to participate for one day, while multiple application will be rejected.

To keep visitors to a controlled number, a balloting system will be used if successful registrations exceed the daily capacity.

Those that don't manage to register can still attend, though they won't get the perks of the Safari Zone like rare monsters and more Pok?stops to get items from.

Niantic is also introducing a new legendary raid boss, the Steel and Dragon-type Temporal Pok?mon Dialga, which will be around until March 29, 5am local time.

"With the ability to warp time by slowing it down, speeding it up, and even stopping it altogether, Sinnoh region mythology says that time began moving when Dialga was born. Be sure to assemble a team that includes Fighting- and Ground-type Pok?mon to take down this Legendary Pok?mon of Sinnoh before it overpowers your Pok?mon with its special attacks," says Niantic.

Raid battles are special challenges that require groups of players to work together to defeat a boss Pok?mon, to earn the chance to catch the rare creature.
