People’s Party (PP) from Kyaikmayaw Township, Mon State, donated purified drinking water and food to the flood victims who had taken shelters in Kyaikmaraw township yesterday morning.
Due to the rise of water level of Ataran River in Kyaikmaraw Township in Mon State, there have been flood relief camps in downtown of Kyaikmayaw Township.
The PP supported purified drinking water and food for over 170 family members of flood victims being sheltered at the flood relief camps in Kyaikmaraw township yesterday morning.
The official from PP said that there were so many family members of migrant workers at the temporary flood relief camps being opened at the Yathe-U monastery. The party provided rice and meals to the flood victims.
Although the water level of Ataran River already decreased, the flooding may occur in coming full moon day of War Khaung.
The Ataran River was flooded due to heavy rain and overflow of torrent mountain rain. The nearby villages beside the embankment of Ataran River faced the flooding about 12 days ago.
The sources reported that purified drinking water, food and medicines are urgent needed at the flood-affected areas in Mon State.
