Peace talks between SPTT and delegates from UWSP, NDAA and SSPP held in NPT

NAYPYITAW------Peace talks between State Peace Talks Team-SPTT, and delegations from United Wa State Party(UWSP), National Democratic Alliance Army and Shan State Progressive Party was held at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre (NSPC) in Nay Pyi Taw, yesterday, according to the sources. 

On the occasion were member of State Administration Council (SAC) Union Minister at the Government Office NSPNC Chairman Peace Talks Team Leader Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, SAC member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, NSPNC Secretary Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein and members, UWSP Vice-Chairman Lau Yaku, NDAA Vice-Chairman San Pae, SSPP central committee member Sao Hsay Pein Pha and representatives.

Firstly, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and the USWP’s vice-chairman on behalf of three ethnic armed groups extended greetings. And then, both sides mutually discussed matters pertaining to requirements, regional stability and development, the holding of elections, the holding of a peace conference, and amendments to basic articles of the 2008 Constitution. The first-day meeting was adjourned and the talks continued today.
