Of more than 100,000 Covid-19 patients in Myanmar, over 80,000 have recovered and over 19,000 are receiving treatment at the treatment centers and hospitals, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports.

Till December 14 since the outbreak, there were 1,456,866 lab tests, 109,542 cases, 2,292 deaths and 88,131 recoveries. The outbreak rate was 1,823 in 1 million people while the death rate was 39 in 1 million people.

With nearly 2,000 deaths, Myanmar has ranked 57th of 230 global countries, if number, not population ratio, is to be considered, the ministry reported.

According to the WHO data released on November 29, there were 1,645 Covid-19 cases in one million people in Myanmar so it was ranked 143rd of 230 global countries. As the death rate was 35 in one million people, Myanmar was ranked 132nd.

The global pandemic and death rate are still rising with over 73 million cases and over 1.5 million deaths across the globe.

Most cases and deaths are seen in the United States with over 16 million cases and 2.0 percent death rate, flowed by India with over 9.8 million cases with 1.5 percent death rate.
