At the invitation of the Ministry of Health and Sports, ORBIS flying eye hospital of the United States landed at Mandalay International Airport on September 23.

As soon as ORBIS flying eye hospital has arrived in TadaU airport, it is performing medical treatment and giving optical lectures. Its mission continues to October 4.

“ORBIS flying eye hospital has visited Myanmar for ten times, especially fourth time to Mandalay. It last visited Myanmar in 2008. The patients have been chosen for providing medical treatment since two months ago. The patients have been opted for giving lectures and 25 patients will be used for curing a disease. Treatment is being performed at aboard ORBIS flying eye hospital and Mandalay Eye Hospital at the same time. Four to five patients are undergoing medical treatment aboard the flying eye hospital and another four to five in Mandalay Eye Hospital,” said Dr Ye Ye Aung, Professor/Head of Department of Yangon Eye Hospital.

A total of 38 foreign eye specialists, and 129 doctors and nurses are going to perform optical treatment practically and theoretically.

ORBIS flying eye hospital started landing at Yangon International Airport in Myanmar in 1991 and gave lectures and then arrived in 1992, 1993, 1994, 1997, and 1999. It landed in Mandalay in 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2019.
