Yangon—One new confirmed case of COVID-19 is reported, according to a statement by the Ministry of Health and Sports at 7 am on 16 May.
A 32-year-old man residing in Htantalan Township in Chin State, tested positive for the virus. The new patient with a travel history to Malaysia had no close contact with the confirmed patient.
On 15 May, a total of 694 samples were tested—546 by National Health Laboratory (Yangon) and 148 by Medical Research Department.
So far, 74 out of 89 recovered patients have been discharged from the respective hospitals.
So far, there have been 182 confirmed cases and six deaths in Myanmar.
