One man died and 23 others including children were injured when a car overturned returning from a wedding reception in the town of Kamamaung, Papon Township, Kayin State, on November 28 morning, according to local aid agencies. 

The Toyota Hilux skidded and overturned after speeding near the town. In the accident, a 20-year-old man died and 23 people including children were injured, said an official from Myanmar Social Aid Organization (Hpa-an)

“Just after the incident, Kamamaung Rescue sent the injured to Kamamaung Hospital. Seven children and eight adults who were seriously injured were sent to Hpa-an People’s Hospital by recue organizations from other towns. Thirteen patients were sent to the operation room and two others to the orthopedic ward. All of them are from Kamamaung,” he said.

Those seriously injured are still receiving treatment at hospital till the morning of November 29.
