Number of China-Europe freight trains increases 50% in 2020

China Daily/ANN - A total of 12,400 freight trains ran between China and Europe in 2020, transporting 1.14 million standard containers, up 50 and 56 percent year-on-year respectively, China Central Television reported on Tuesday, sourcing China State Railway Group Co Ltd.

The number of the freight trains running between China and Europe continued to grow last year, covering more than 90 cities in over 20 European countries, CCTV said.

In total, 76,000 metric tons or 9.31 million pieces of epidemic prevention and control supplies were delivered to Italy, Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic, Russia, Poland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Lithuania and Belgium via China-Europe freight trains, which greatly enhanced international cooperation in epidemic control and prevention, CCTV reported.
