Ever since the military seized power on February 1, NLD offices in states and regions were entered illegally, violating existing laws, according to National League for Democracy(NLD) CEC members on February 3.
NLD, in its statement, said that military and police entered NLD offices in Mandalay, and Magway Regions, Mon State and some townships and seized papers, laptops and computers and in some townships, locks of offices were destroyed.
It is assumed that these acts were carried out under the instructions of regional military commanders and some townships in states and regions didn’t face these kinds of breaking of law.
The NLD denounced these acts and those responsible must prevent these kinds of acts, it stated.
Kyi Toe, member of the information committee of NLD in his facebook page said that they are planning to object to the atrocities made in Mandalay Region and Magway Region.
The NLD is an officially registered political party and won landslide victories at the 2015 and 2020 general election, it stated.
But, President Win Myint and State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi were arrested during the military emergency situation in the country on February 1.
It is the second statement issued by the NLD after the military seized power.
