Myawady sees two more COVID patients, total now 45

Till the evening of 21 Oct with the addition of two patients with loss of smell proving to be COVID-19 positive, the number of COVID-19 confirmed patients in Myawady, Kayin State, is now 45.    

These COVID-19 confirmed patients have a record of traveling inland,with 24 having travelled to Yangon, and one to have travelled to Mandalay. 12 have had Primary Contact, and five had travelled to Thailand. Of those who have had Primary Contact, one was found to have been infected with coronavirus.     

In addition on 21st October one person from Padamyar street near Friendship Bridge(1) with no sense of smell, and one person from toll gate near Phayargalay who had lost the sense of smell, both proved to have been infected with coronavirus when tested in Myawady hospital.Padamyar street is restricted of movement, and Contact Persons too are under scrutiny.     

U Tayza Aung, Myawady District Administrative Officer, said that in order to make Myawady safe everything is being done in quarantine centres to allure Primary Contact and Secondary Contact Persons to go to quarantine centres.     

On 20 Oct at about noon, a 32-year old truck driver living in a warehouse belonging to U Aung Thura in border trade zone was found to be COVID-19 Positive when tested at the Myawady Trade Zone inspection gate using Test Kit, and the driver was sent to Myawady hospital.     

Of the 14 Contact Persons with the truck driver, two men aged 35 and 28 have been sent to Mekanei quarantine centre  and the remaining 12 were made to Stay Home in the warehouse which is under temporary Lockdown.     

Of the 45 COVID-19 Positive confirmed patients, 18 have recovered and have been discharged from hospital. Ine patient with cancer was declared to be COVID confirmed patient after death. At the moment there are 26 patients taking treatment in Myawady hospital
