At the invitation of Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and State Security and Peace Commission Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, a special aircraft carrying a high-level delegation led by Mr Alexander Gregoryevich Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus, to pay an official goodwill visit to Myanmar, started flying into the Myanmar air territory on November 27 evening.
At the airport, the Belarusian President and his entourage were warmly welcomed by Member of the State Security and Peace Commission, Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, the deputy minister for Foreign Affairs, the Myanmar Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Ambassador to Myanmar, and officials.
The high-level delegation led by the President of the Republic of Belarus was welcomed with full state protocol honours, with the Guard of Honour greeting the visiting heads of state along the red carpet.
Last June, a high-level delegation led by Acting President Senior General Min Aung Hlaing paid an official goodwill visit to Belarus. During the visit, Acting President Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and the President of Belarus H.E. Mr. Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko held talks in the State Hall of the Presidential Palace of Belarus.
During the visit, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing will attend the Fourth Europe-Asia Economic Forum (EEF 2025), have a separate meeting with the President of Belarus, the rotating chairman of the EAEU, meet with the Chairman of the Board of the Euro-Asia Economic Commission, and visit factories and workshops. During the visit, the two governments and peoples will further strengthen friendship, economic, security and strategic cooperation in all sectors, and economic development with the Eurasian Economic Union-EAEU member states.
This goodwill visit will help strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two countries, promote cultural exchanges, facilitate the sharing of agricultural production technologies, and further enhance collaboration across various sectors between Myanmar and Belarus.
