Myanmar sees more than 60,000 in quarantine for COVID-19

According to the Ministry of Health and Sports, there are more than 61000 persons in more than 6000 quarantine centres nationwide, and that Ayeyarwady Region has the most with more than 13000 people.

In Yangon Region there are more than 12000 person with restricted movement in more than 330 quarantine centres, in Bago Region there are more than 10000 persons with restricted movement in more than 1000 quarantine centres, in Ayeyarwady Region there are more than 13000 persons with restricted movement in more than 1100 quarantine centres, in Magwe Region there are more than 4400 persons with restricted movement in more than 590 quarantine centres, and in Sagaing Region there are more than 3800 persons with restricted movement in more than 830 quarantine centres.

Kachin State has more than 2700 persons with restricted movement in more than 280 quarantine centres, in Mandalay Region there are more than 3300 persons with restricted movement in more than 450 quarantine centres, in Kayin State there are more than 1900 persons with restricted movement in more than 220 quarantine centres, in Rakhine State there are more than 1400 persons with restricted movement in more than 270 quarantine centres, in Shan (south) there are more than 1100 persons with restricted movement in more than 140 quarantine centres, in Tanintharyi Region there are more than 1400 persons with restricted movement in more than 150 quarantine centres, in Mon State there are more than 1300 persons with restricted movement in more than 30 quarantine centres, in Shan (north) there are more than 860 persons with restricted movement in more than 400 quarantine centres, in Naypyidaw there are more than 1200 persons with restricted movement in 10 quarantine centres, in Shan (east) there are more than 500 persons wuth restricted movement in more than 20 quarantine centres, in Kayin State there are more than 1900 persons with restricted movement in more than 220 quarantine centres  and in Chin State there are more than 240 persons with restricted movement in more than 20 quarantine centres.    

The Ministry of Health and Sports is making all the arrangements for those in quarantine, those taking treatment in hospitals, medical workers and volunteers away from their homes to give their votes on election day.     

The minister said as above in  the meeting held in Naypyidaw on 15 Oct. to ensure that patients and those on duty in treatment centres and hospitals can give their votes in accordance with the guidelines for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.     

All necessary preparations to enable persons in quarantine, those taking treatment in hospitals, health workers and medical staff, and voluntary workers to give their votes will be disclosed on the website of the Ministry of Health and Sports and more than 30000 Mobile Tablets given to the health workers.
