Myanmar reports 77 new COVID-19 cases and one death on April 28

A total of 8,662 laboratory samples of COVID-19 were tested and 77 new confirmed cases were found and one died, according to the press release of the Ministry of Health (MOH) released on April 28.

According to the MOH, the laboratory tests were performed from 8 pm of April 27 to 8 pm of April 28.

In addition, there were 26 people who recovered from hospitals and those who were isolated at home on April 28, and the discharge rate was 96.86 percent. Total number of discharged people is 614,778.

According to further inspections, there was one death due to COVID-19 on April 28, and the total death rate was 3.07 percent, with a total of 19,491 deaths.

In addition, the 60 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients found between 8 pm on April 26 and 8 pm on April 27 are from Yangon Region, Bago Region, Kayin State and Zabuthiri Township from Nay Pyi Taw.

Of the 60 people found infected, there were 44 from 15 townships in Yangon Region, two from two townships in Bago Region, 12 from Myawady in Kayin State and two from Zabuthiri Township from Nay Pyi Taw.

According to research, the severity of the disease, hospital admissions and deaths can be reduced in those vaccinated against COVID-19, and additional vaccinations can be further reduced the severity of the disease, hospital admissions and deaths.
