A total of 8,315 Covid-19 samples were tested in Myanmar from 8 pm of December 31 to 8 pm of January 1, and 112 cases were detected, the Ministry of Health reported on the night of December 1.

Moreover, four more deaths were reported during that 24-hour period.

Since the outbreak to 8 pm of January 1, there had been 6,048,965 samples tested, 530,946 cases detected and 19,272 deaths in the country.

On January 1, 255 Covid patients were discharged from hospitals bringing the total number of recoveries to 508,487, the ministry reported.
