Myanmar has seen 425 more Covid-19 cases and 18 more deaths, the Ministry of Health and Sports reported on the night of January 22.
A total of 17,699 swabs were tested from January 21 at 8:00 pm to January 22 at 8:00 pm, and 425 new cases were confirmed.
A total of 570 Covid-19 patients were also discharged from hospital on the same day, bringing the total number of people who recovered from the illness to 120,543.
Of the 18 deaths, 15 had pre-existing chronic medical conditions. And there have so far been 3,031 deaths from Covid-19, the ministry reported.
Till January 22, there were a total of 2,229,844 samples tested, 136,591 confirmed cases, 120,543 recoveries and 3,031 deaths, the ministry announced.
For January 22 also, 544 of those in close contact with the Covid-19 patients in Yangon Region tested negative for Covid-19 but they have been put in home quarantine, the ministry said.
