Sewn clothes, onions and other aquatic products were exported from Myawady border to Thailand within a week, and plastic raw materials were imported the most, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
The most exported products from Myawady Trade Zone to Thailand between October 7 and 13 were 1,631.960 tons of onions at US$641.559 per ton, 58,559 sewn clothes in terms of tons 11.438 tons, 3,366.390 tons of dried chili at US$1,635.006 per ton, 676.902 tons of chili at US$400.353 per ton, 164 tons of metals and ores at US$1,335.365 per ton, 96 tons of white sesame at US$2104.166 per ton, 772.500 tons of cabbage at US$200.647 per ton, 72 tons of betel nut at US$1527.77 per ton, 12.800 tons of other fishery products at US$343.500 per ton and 14.070 tons of dried ginger at US$995.025 per ton.
In terms of imports, the ten most imported products from October 7 to 13 were US$1.577 million worth of plastic raw materials, US$1.015 million worth of mineral (excluding metal) construction materials, US$0.952 million worth of iron and steel construction materials, US$0.925 million worth of printing papers, US$0.670 million worth of other papers, US$0.640 million worth of various cosmetic products, US$0.589 million worth of wire cables, US$0.562 million worth of machinery and equipment, US$0.549 million worth of iron and steel products and US$0.396 million worth of vehicle and vehicle parts.
During the first quarter of the 2023-2024 FY, exports from Myanmar to Thailand were over US$1,316 million, accounting for 34.2 percent of total exports, according to a statement from the Central Statistics Organization of the Ministry of Planning and Finance.
During the fourth quarter of the 2022-2023 FY, exports from Myanmar to Thailand exceeded US$909 million, accounting for 22.6 percent of total exports, according to a statement from the Central Statistics Organization.
During the fourth quarter of the 2022-2023 FY, more than 76 percent of Myanmar's exports were exported to Asia, and 18.4 percent of exports were exported to the EU, according to a statement from the Central Statistics Organization. During the fourth quarter of the 2022-2023 FY, the countries that imported the most goods from Myanmar were China, Thailand, Japan, India, and the United States.
Myanmar is exporting agricultural products, livestock products, fishery products, minerals, forestry products, CMP and other products, according to the Ministry of Commerce. Investment products, industrial raw materials, consumer goods and CMP raw materials are mainly imported.
Annually, Myanmar's foreign trade in the 2012-2013 FY was US$8,977.015 million in exports and US$9,068.914 million in imports, with the total trade volume of US$18,045.929 million.
In the 2015-2016 FY, exports were US$11,136.878 million and imports were US$16,577.948 million, with the total trade volume of US$27,714.826 million. In the 2016-2017 FY, exports were US$11,998.545 million and imports were US$17,211.062 million, with the total trade volume of US$29,209.607 million.
In the 2017-2018 FY, exports were US$14,883.160 million and imports were US$18,694.892 million, with the total trade volume of US$33,578.052 million.
