Myanmar and Republic of Korea (ROK) signed MoU on Cooperation in Fisheries, Cooperation in the Field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training and Comprehensive Environmental Cooperation during Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s State visit to the Republic of Korea (ROK), the Ministry of Information reported.

State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi attended Myanmar-ROK meeting held at Westin Chosun Hotel in Busan on November 26 and then the MoU signing ceremony between the two countries followed.

The officials of Myanmar and ROK signed three MoUs in the presence of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and President Mr. Moon Jae-in of the Republic of Korea (ROK), the press release of the Ministry of Information said.

Dr. Aung Thu, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock Breeding and Irrigation signed MoU on Cooperation in Fisheries with ROK Minister Mr. Moon Seong-Hyeok, Thant Sin, Myanmar Ambassador to the ROK, MoU on Cooperation in the Field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training with Mrs. Yoo Eun Hea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education and MoU Comprehensive Environmental Cooperation with Mr. Cho Myung-Rae, Environmental Minister of ROK in the presence of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and President Mr. Moon Jae-in of the Republic of Korea (ROK).

Officials of Korea-Myanmar signed to borrow more than US$ 61 million for ROK-Myamar Industrial Project and more than US$ 93 million for E-government Integrated Data Project from Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) during ROK’s president visit to Myanmar in September.
