Myanmar and Nepal ink MoU on tourism and culture cooperation

State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi received President Bidya Devi Bhandari of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal at Credentials Hall of the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw on October 17.

The meeting spotlighted promotion of mutual friendship between the two people of the two countries, increased cooperation in tourism and culture sectors, mutual cooperation between the two countries on global stage, establishment of the communication sector, cooperation in exchanging information between the two countries, the participation of Myanmar delegation of high ranking officials in the Global Climate Change Conference to be held in Nepal in 2020, and observance of commemorative events to mark the 60th Anniversary of Founding diplomatic relations between the two countries in the next year.

The meeting was also attended by Union Ministers U Kyaw Tint Swe, U Min Thu, Thura Aung Ko and Kyaw Tin, Myanmar Ambassador to Nepal Thiripyanchi U Tun Nay Lin, members of the Nepali presidential delegation, the Nepali Ambassador Mr Bhim Krishna Udas and senior officials.

After the discussions, State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and Nepalese President Bidya Devi Bhandari attended the MoU signing ceremony.

After the meeting, the State Counsellor and the Nepali President witnessed the signing of MoUs by the Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura Aung Ko and the Union Minister for International Cooperation Kyaw Tin the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali for cooperation in culture and tourism sectors.
