Deputy Director General of the non-contagious diseases department Dr Kyaw Kan Kaung, said that the Ministry of Health and Sports is giving priority to the requirement of oxygen and Remdesivir drug, and to Plasma Therapy in order to reduce the death rates from COVID-19.    

According to the observations made by the Infectious Diseases Department among those who died, those patients between 60 and 75 years were the highest. The second highest group is those between 45 and 60 years. There are deaths evev among the young, but the percentage is not much. To reduce the death rate the Ministry of Health and Sports with the support of the State and the co-operation of the public is working to that end. The co-operation of the people is very crucial. To save lives with the supply of oxygen and the requirement of Remdesivir and Plasma Therapy are given priority by the ministry so that as soon as need is detected treatment is given immediately. Just as the Ministry of Health and Sports is working to reduce deaths it is important for each and every individual, families, responsible people from wards and villages to unite and do the needful, said Dr Kyaw Kan Kaung.     

At the moment in Myanmar group infection in a single day is increasing. Infections by the hundreds result from here and so the number of patients infected by viruses keeps increasing.    

Prof. Dr Zaw,Wei Soe said that the virus was detected in the aged home. They were Positive. Now these aged folks can be discharged, hale and hearty. These folks aged 70 plus, 80 plus, and 90 plus were each given treatment without any casualties and discharged.     

With the second surge of COVID-19 Yangon Region had the most number of infected cases with the highest percentage of infections. That is why from 20 Sept., with the exception of Cocos Island, all the other townships in Yangon Region were placed under Stay at Home measure. Starting from 1st Oct the daily average death rate was 30 per day.     

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Sports, Dr Than Naing Soe said that regarding the contagion of COVID-19, at the moment in Yangon Region  group virus infections are occuring in markets, monasteries, aged homes, factories and workshops, and prisons.
