Chairman of SAC Senior-General Min Aung Hlaing said that the military will conduct counter-attacks against those who commit attacks on army bases despite building trust over ethnics.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said these words at the meeting 6/2023 of the Union government at the office of the SAC Chairman in Nay Pyi Taw held on October 2.

He said that in recent days, MNDAA and TNLA combined forces attacked local security posts and departmental offices in the Kokang region of Shan State (North). Similarly, transport facilities and local security posts were attacked in Kachin State. The government has warned the KIA not to deteriorate local peace and stability but they deployed excessive strength in attacking the security posts.

Therefore, the government responded to them due to security measures.

He recounted that he delivered a speech at the 8th anniversary of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) ceremony, saying that if anyone follows the Constitution (2008) without harming Our Three Main National Causes, the government will accept the peace talks. Responsible officials concerned are working for the peace, he added.

He continued in saying that although some organizations participated in the discussions with constructive attitudes at the meeting, they were actually making preparations to commit attacks. Although the government has worked for building trust over ethnics, they have carried out attacks on military bases. Therefore, the military will conduct counter-attacks against those who commit attacks on military bases.
