Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) is going to vote for Sheikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, the current president of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in the presidential election of the AFC to be held in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia on April 6, reported by the Daily Eleven newspaper.

Three candidates including Sheikh Salman and each from Qatar and UAE will compete in the presidential election of the AFC.

"Our MFF will have a plan to vote for Sheikh Salman in the upcoming presidential election of AFC. This is because the current president has an enormous capacity to improve Asian football arena and provide assistance to member countries. With the genuine support of the AFC, two mini pitches worth of US$ 300,000 could be established. For member countries of the AFC, management courses and match organizing courses could be also conducted.

"An eight-year-long sponsorship contract worth of US$ 4 billion could be signed and it will take effect in 2021. The previous contract will expire in 2021 and it was worth US$ 1 billion. The sponsorship contract increased in value due to his strenuous efforts. For that reason, we MFF has decided to vote for him," said President Zaw Zaw of the MFF.

A president, five vice-presidents, six FIFA members, five women's football committee members and nine executives will be elected in the presidential election of the AFC. During the upcoming election, executives will be chosen for 2019-2023.
