A medical student was short dead in Sizone Street in Sangyoung Township, Yangon, which is a busy place, while he was returning home from school on March 20, local sources said.
In the street, the medical student and a woman were shot at about 5pm on March 20. The student later died of bullet wounds, while the woman sustained a bullet wound to the thigh. According to local sources, the reason why both were shot is still unknown.
“The shooting occurred in Sizone Street. A medical student and a woman were shot. The student was about 20 years old. I heard he had died. The woman got an injury to her thigh. The reason is not known,” said a resident in Sizone Street.
Another local resident said after gunfire had been heard about eight times, security forces came to the street and conducted checks.
