A masked man robbed an “online” store, one that mainly operates online, on Parami Road in South Oakkalapa Township, Yangon on November 1, sources said.

The man entered the store around 11:45 am and threatened female staffs in the store to give him money, according to one of the victims.

“The man wearing a green colour mask entered our shop and threatened us with a knife. At that time, only three female staffs are present in the shop. We were very afraid as it was happening very quickly. We have over Ks50,000 in cash as we haven’t sold much today. We give them all money we had and he demanded to give him more. He quickly escaped after he found out that there wasn’t any more. We were shocked so we didn’t ask help from the public immediately but later we informed of the robbery to the police,” said a female staff.

The staffs said he wore a black coat and a black hat at around over five and a half feet in height. He is about 25 or 30 years old.

“He asked for more money but we are not wearing jewellery. The robbery only lasted for about five minutes. He disappeared after taking the money,” said a staff.

Police came to the shop to conduct investigations afterwards.

A police officer from South Oakkalapa Township police station said they are still tracking the culprit found in CCTV footages.
