Four PDF members were arrested together with weapons and ammunition for killing innocent civilians and setting up explosives in the downtown of Mandalay Region, according to the announcement of State Administration Council’s Information Team.
According the tip-off from some members of the public, the security forces investigated that the detained PDF members were plotting destructive attacks on the pavilions in Mandalay Region during Thingyan festival. So, Zaw Min Thein @ Myat Thu who was one of the Special Task Force-STF PDF members was arrested with one Glock Pistol, magazines and five bullets at Mya Yi Nandar Housing situated between 47th Streets and 48th Streets in Kanthayar Ward, Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay region, on the evening of April 6.
According to the confession of Zaw Min Thein , the STF PDF leader Ei Van together with firearms was hiding at the Nyein Thayar Hostel on 72nd Street between 39th and 40th Streets in Chanayethazan Township. So, the security forces raided the room of Ei Van situated in Myayi Nandar Housing. However, other two STF PDF members were arrested with three homemade pistols, 13 bullets and six bombs.
Those detainees also confessed that the PDF members from Royal Phoenix Force together with STF members were hiding in the school in Oakpho village and nearby villages in Sagaing Region. Therefore, the security forces are carrying out regional security tasks around the Oakpho village and its nearby villages and they also arrested one of the PDF members living in Pyigyitagon Township with FGC-9 gun, 11 homemade guns, homemade motor, five magazines, 115 assorted bullets, 81 of China-made bombs, 28 homemade grenades, 15 homemade mines, five drop bombs, 20 viss of gunpowder, 70-ft gunpowder string, 100 detonators, 60 sets of guerilla uniforms, four walkie-talkies, bulletproof hat, 20 shoes, two boxes containing various kinds of medicines and a manacles.
According to the confession of the detainees, Zaw Min Thein had attended 14-day terrorist training course at the PDF members in Ngazon Township, Mandalay Region, in February of 2022. With the cash assistance of NUG and CRPH, the STF was formed with 15 PDF members and they committed 10 times of assassinations being carried out in Pyigyitagon, Maha Aung Myae and Chanmyathazi Townships and one time of explosion. A total of 14 people including four ward administrators, two one-hundred household leaders and 8 civilians being accused of military informants were killed. Similarly, they carried out a bomb blast at the Wathoneda Community Center in Chanmyathasi Township.
The detainees confessed that they had planned to choose three places for carrying out drop bomb attacks on Thigyan pavilions, public crowded areas and Mya Nan San Kyaw Golden Palace in Mandalay Region during Thingyan period.
