Yangon—Local and foreign investments granted by Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) in 2018-19 fiscal year created 189,523 jobs for locals, according to the MIC’s summary report for 2018-19 FY.
The 282 FDI created 170,330 jobs in 2018-19 FY while 169 citizen investments created 19,193 jobs.
The total FDI in 2018-19 FY exceeded 4,520 million US dollars. The actual inflow of FDI from 28 countries hit over 2,766 million US dollars, according to the summary report.
The total FDI hit 4520.754 million US dollars including 2764.128 million US dollars by 282 foreign investments, 1394.346 million US dollars of investment promotion by 97 businesses and 362.280 million US dollars by 16 foreign businesses in Thilawa Special Economic Zone.
