Liquid Oxygen Bowsers containing 3000 ton (40 liters oxygen cylinders-75000) of oxygen bought from China will be arrived in Mandalay today.

Fund Finding Committee for Public Health and Urban Development Assistance has bought oxygen liquid and the preliminary liquid arrive today will be sent to Mandalay Hospital’s liquid oxygen storage  tank and directly given to patients through pipelines at the patients’ beds according to the committee.

Each liquid oxygen bowser contains 26 tons of liquid oxygen (40 liters oxygen cylinders-650) and 2 to 3 bowsers of 75 tons (40 liters oxygen cylinders-1875) will arrive Mandalay every week according to the Committee.

The Committee was formed in April 3, 2020 with towns’ elders, and business people of Mandalay. It comprises 23 members and more than Kyats 2520 million were donated so far according to the announcement made by the committee.

The Committee has built and donated lab (biosafety level-2) which can test 1000 to 1500 patients per day at 35 Street, 64x66 Street and opened on November 20th, 2020.

Arrangements are on the way to distribute the liquid oxygen to public. A member of the committee said that they are arranging liquid oxygen to distribute to public but oxygen bowsers are more dangerous than petro bowsers. For oxygen, it has to send to the storage tank first. And then, it can fill to cylinders. In doing so, a pump system is needed. In Mandalay, oxygen storage tanks are only in hospitals.
