The Kawthaung-Ranong Friendship Tourism Promotion Festival is currently underway at the 3rd-mile People’s Square in Kawthoung Township, Taninthayi Region, from February 4 to 8.

This vibrant event serves as a bridge to strengthen tourism collaboration between Myanmar and Thailand, foster trade relations, and provide delightful entertainment programs.

Distinguished attendees include Prime Minister U Myat Ko of Taninthayi Region, Director General U Maung Maung Kyaw from the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism, and officials from Ranong Province in Thailand.

The festival boasts over 40 booths, showcasing hotels, enticing tour packages from travel companies, a delightful array of Thai products and cuisine, and approximately 40 galleries representing Myanmar.

Notably, Thai officials had previously visited Myanmar in January to organize a tourism festival. The Kawthoung-Ranong Tourism 2024 festival is a collaborative effort involving people from across Thailand, and businessmen have been cordially invited by the Tourism Industry committee to participate in this enriching event.

Through this festival, Thailand aims to boost Myanmar’s economy, strengthen bilateral tourism ties, and foster cultural exchange, exemplifying the spirit of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
