If political parties were absent again from their performance, they must be taken actions: UEC

NAYPYITAW-----If political parties were absent again from their performance, they must be taken actions, said Khin Maung Oo, one of the members of Union Election Commission (UEC), at the press conference led by Information Team of State Administration Council held at the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw on July 26th.  

He also said that the Combined Inspections Team gave instructions to the political parties in detail and if the parties commit the same acts, they will be taken actions against according to the Political Parties Registration Law and Regulations.

The UEC inspected as per the law together with the departments concerned, a combined inspection team consisting of representatives of the organizations at the election sub commission offices of respective headquarters of political parties, he said.

They mainly investigated the setup of political parties, their members and offices, entrance fee for the party, monthly fees, donation of local well-wishers, materials and businesses owned by parties, expenses as per the parties’ rules and regulations, funds, property, records, expenses of candidates who competed in the election, the annual budget of parties in respective financial years, annual lists of property, whether they form audit committee for these lists, seeking of approvals as per the parties’ rules and regulations and other inventories.

The UEC has inspected 85 political parties out of 92 and will keep investigating the remaining 7 parties.
