YANGON-Yangon Rescue Organization (YRO) together with the General Administrative Department and relevant health departments daily conduct health checks on over 100 people including suspects and returning from Rakhine State, according to YRO.

“ There are over 100 peoples. We have to carry out the medical tasks together with the authorities. The General Administrative Department and Township Health Department instructed us and then we brought those who must have undergone medical checkup and recorded the list for taking the Swab test. After taking the Swab test at the relevant places, those must be kept under Home Quarantine. If there will be a positive case, a person must be sent to the relevant Hospital,” said an unidentified official from YRO.

The YRO provides ambulances to pick up the suspect patient and those who returned from Rakhine State aiming to carry out health checkups.

“We brought a total of 34 persons from different places in Minglataungnyunt and Dawbon Townships yesterday. We are going to send those persons who must be undergone medical checkups in the following days with the ambulances,” said an official from YRO.  

During the first wave of COVID-19 outbreak, the YRO carried out fever screenings at the YBS bus lines and hotspots in Insein and Mayangone Townships.

Rakhine State found its first COVID-19 case since the beginning of August 16th. So, the medical experts regarded it as the second wave of COVID-19 and they already monitored those who returned from the Rakhine State and made restrictions on those returnees from Rakhine State.
