H1N1 death toll hits 115

Till September 20, the number of H1N1 death toll reached 115, with one more death reported in Bago Region, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports.

Out of 499 influenza-like illness (ILI) patients, 124 of them are H1N1 patients, 22 influenza A (H3N2) patients. and 41 influenza B patients. Out of 1,234 severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) patients, 1,243 of them are H1N1 patients, 39 influenza A (H3N2) patients and 72 influenza B patients.

An official of the Public Health Department said: “Till September 20,  1,741 patients underwent laboratory tests nationwide and 740 were found to be infected with the flu. The death toll reached 115—68 in Yangon Region, 14 in Ayeyawady Region, 11 in Bago Region, five in Sagaing Region, four each in Magway and Mandalay Regions, three in Mon State, two in Rakhine State and one each in Nay Pyi Taw, Kachin State, Shan State (South) and Taninthayi Region.”
