Myanmar has received 26.009 billion kyats and US$375,000, which have been added into Myanmar Economic Bank and Myanmar Foreign Trade Bank from international and local donors for the donation to the areas affected by Cyclone Mocha until June 5, according to the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.
In addition, the government purchased 10,000 tons of reserve rice (200,000 bags of rice) from Myanmar Rice Federation using the National Disaster Management Fund, and allocated 60,000 bags of rice for Rakhine State and 2,169 bags of rice donated by donors which have been delivered to Sittway, according to the ministry.
A total of 640 bags of rice to Chin State and 304,502 sheets of zinc were delivered to Sittway, and the ASEAN-ERAT group conducted field surveys in Sittway, Yathedaung, Kyauktaw and Ponnakyun cities. The ministry received a total of seven flights of relief materials from the AHA Center, according to the ministry.
