While the insurgents temporarily controlled the area around Kyaukme Township, the local ethnic people were forced to abandon their homes and belongings, and suffered losses in their human rights, economic, social, health, and educational systems, The Tatmadaw has been able to regain control of the Kyaukme area after facing the consequences of the fighting, and has welcomed this, and some of the local ethnic people who were temporarily displaced are also returning to their homes.
The Tatmadaw troops are continuing to carry out demining and security activities in the towns and villages to ensure that the temporarily displaced ethnic people in Kyaukme Township and the surrounding areas can peacefully pursue their socio-economic lives, work, and live in their homes in their towns and villages, and to repair the office, department buildings, residential buildings, religious, educational, and health facilities that were burned down during the insurgents’ temporary control, and to clear landmines in the towns and villages that were planted by the terrorists.
In addition, to provide necessary assistance to the local people and to reopen government administrative mechanisms such as offices, schools, and hospitals for public health care, departmental organizations arrived in Kyaukme on October 2 with vehicles carrying necessary relief supplies and food, and were welcomed by the local ethnic people.
