Fourth Mandalay coronavirus patient tests negative, remains in quarantine

Mandalay—The 4th patient from Mandalay continues to be put in facility quarantine though he has tested negative for COVID-19, according to Mandalay General Hospital. 

Dr. Su Su Dway, Medical Superintendent from Mandalay General Hospital said: “The 4th patient has tested negative for the virus in the second lab test. He will remain in Kandawnadi Hospital as facility quarantine rather than the house.”

The patient is in normal condition since the hospitalization. According to the lab result, he tested positive for the virus twice and negative once. 

According to the DC criteria, the patient will be allowed to discharge from the hospital if he meets criteria such as testing negative twice, lack of fever and improved lung condition. 

The patient’s wife showed no symptoms and tested negative for the virus. His family members being put in Nadi Myanmar Hotel are in good condition. 

The man with a recent travel history to the U.S. is the first confirmed patient in Mandalay.
