Four members of Free Funeral Service Society (Yangon) including chairman and actor Kyaw Thu have tested positive for Covid-19.
Kyaw Thu had Covid-19 testing on October 21 as he stopped working temporarily after one of his staff members had been infected with the coronavirus.
“About five days, an office staff tested positive for the virus. So, U Maung (Kyaw Thu) and I have stopped our work temporarily. When we had tests today, his infection was reported. A total of four people here have tested positive,” film star Zwe La Yaung worked as a volunteer for FFSS (Yangon).
Despite having underlying health conditions, Kyaw Thu, one of Myanmar’s veteran actors, had been working daily for his philanthropic organization during the Covid-19 crisis.
“One staff member was infected. We did not stay closely. U Maung was always at work. He had never been absent from work. He is suffering from heart disease. I am concerned about him. I am sorry. Our organization will not stop operating. We are still working. Now, four have tested positive for the virus,” said Zwe La Yaung.
