PETALING JAYA: (The Star/ANN) - PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (pic) has declared assets worth more than RM10mil to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

According to his private aide Shukri Saad, Anwar’s move to declare his assets was as required by the government for all Cabinet and Pakatan Harapan lawmakers.

“This includes his house in Bukit Segambut, which is now worth an estimated RM9.5mil from its initial price when it was purchased at a cost of RM4.5mil based on the sale of his house in Bukit Damansara in 2005,” said Shukri in a statement.

It was reported that Segamat MP Datuk Seri Dr Edmund R. Santhara Kumar topped the list, based on the latest filing on the MACC asset declaration website.

Based on information on the website, the Segamat MP and his wife have RM132,115,000 in assets, placing Beruas MP Ngeh Koo Ham in second place with RM77,011,990.00.

To date, 121 or 93.8% of government parliamentary members have declared their assets and 78 or 88.4% of administrative members have also declared their assets.

Last November, Beruas MP Ngeh topped the asset declaration list, followed by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who had accumulated assets worth RM32mil.

Anwar, who is also the Port Dickson MP, also declared a piece of land in Permatang Habib, Mukim Penor, Kuantan, Pahang, which was bought in 1974 at the price of RM7,000.

“The current estimated value of the piece of land stood at RM420,000. The rest are from his investment and saving accounts worth RM828,658.83,” said Shukri.
