Female cadets from the Air Force are now performing flying duties on par with their male counterparts, according to Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC).

The SAC chairman addressed Tatmadaw members from Hmawby Airbase, female cadets, and officer trainees from the female officer platoon commander course at the Defence Services (Army) Officer Training School (Hmawby) on the morning of August 31.

In his speech, the Senior General emphasized the importance of strengthening the Tatmadaw's (Armed Forces) capabilities across all branches, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

He highlighted the advancements in the Air Force, noting that it has been continuously upgraded with new airplanes and helicopters to meet current demands.

Myanmar, he pointed out, is the first country in ASEAN and among Southeast Asian nations to operate fighter jets. The country has also trained Aviation Specialist officers and other ranks, including female officers, who are now serving in flying duties alongside their male counterparts.

The Senior General further stressed the need for systematic training to enhance the individual capacity and morals of Tatmadaw members, enabling them to effectively implement the nation's defense policies through air force capabilities.

He emphasized that improved cooperation among members of the Army, Navy, and Air Force would strengthen the State's overall defense capability. Finally, he urged each Tatmadaw member to remain loyal to themselves, their institutions, and the State with unwavering commitment.
