On February 2, the information team of the State Administration Council reported the arrest of six members of the Dark Side Revolution Burma (DSRB) group.

These individuals were apprehended at the junction of Bago-Thanetpin in Bago Township. The charges against them include possession of 10 homemade 107 mm rocket launchers and a 40-mm homemade grenade launcher.

According to the statement, the DSRB group had sinister plans: they intended to fire the 107 mm rocket launchers at crowded areas in Bago town on the night of February 3, 2024. Fortunately, a tip-off from concerned citizens led to their timely arrest. The suspects were found traveling in an RLG-4563 Nissan March car, along with the cache of weapons and detonators produced by the KIA group.

Aung Naing Myo, one of the arrested individuals, revealed that weapons and ammunition were stored in the yard of his house in Yedaga Tawa village, Thanetpin Township, Bago Region. During a joint security team search, a 40 mm hand-made grenade launcher and a homemade mine were discovered.

The testimony of those arrested sheds light on their intentions: during the 2023 Myanmar Film Award Ceremony, they planned to unleash the 107 mm rocket launchers in crowded areas of Bago, aiming to instill fear in the public. Shine Wei (also known as RI) was arrested at the entrance of Theinzayet town while returning from collecting the 107 mm rocket launchers.

The State Administration Council has vowed to take effective legal action against those caught, ensuring that the dangerous weapons would not be used to harm innocent civilians in crowded restaurants and tea shops in Bago.
