A curfew has been imposed in Ye Township, where martial law has been declared, starting from February 8 from 6 pm to 6 am, according to the residents.

"Previously, the curfew was set from 8 pm to 4 am the next day. We saw announcements on February 7 and 8 through loudspeakers. We know that letters were posted at the relevant ward and village administration offices," said a resident of Ye Town.

Because the curfew time was changed, there may be difficulties in the issues of health, business, social and transportation of the residents, the resident said.

The curfew was issued with the signature of Major General Myat Thet Oo, the commander of the Southeast Regional Military Command, and the people of Ye Township are not allowed to travel on the streets from 6 pm to 6 am the next morning, except for security officials. It is also stated in the decree statement not to make the gathering of five and more people during that time and not to allow walking, procession and preaching.

In addition, it has also been stated that rioting, carrying sticks, swords and burning things, blocking obstacles on the streets, blocking the roads using crowd and disturbing those in charge of security in any way area not allowed.

It is also stated in the statement that those who do not comply with the issued order will be arrested by force and will be dealt with effectively according to existing laws.

In Ye Township, Mon State, military camps, police stations and departmental office buildings were frequently attacked after February 1, 2021. Security forces members, departmental staff, ward and village administrators and civilians are also being killed frequently, according to locals.
