Normally the number of COVID-19 Positive patients was over 500 in COVID-19 treatment centers in Bago, but within three days the number of infected patients gradually fell below 400.

From the time COVID-19 was discovered in Myanmar, the Kali hospital which is still being constructed in Bago, was used as COVID-19  treatment centre to cure infected patients.

During the second wave of COVID-19 the Kali hospital was insufficient,  and apart from Jali hospital, the Indigenous Hospital  and Vago University were opened as COVID-19 treatment centres.

Dr. Yan Naing Maung, Bago Region Chief Health Officer, said, " In Bago the number has dropped in three days. From over 500 COVID-19 Positive patients everyday in three treatment centers now it has dropped to below 400. Since prisoners  from Thanatpin Prison are being treated in Kali here the number was at a standstill in the past few days, but now it has dropped. It is noticed that there is more contagion in prison. Outside the figure has dropped ".

It can be stated that the drop in number if contagion is due to the co-operation from the public. Now there are cases of fast contagious COVID-19 in neighboring countries, and it is necessary for the people to keep up the present state and to co-operate.

Dr. Yan Naing Naung said , " The drop in numbers is due to the co-operation of the people. What we notice now is that people are wearing masks when going outdoors. Health benefits will be in proportion to the following of health disciplinary standards.  Now the fast contagious COVID-19  virus in England has reached neighboring countries. That is why we urge the people to uphold the present rate of drop in number and to co-operate so as to prevent a third surge. Wear masks when going out. Avoid crowding. Don't go out of there is no need. Wash hands if you happen to go to markets, hospitals and  outdoors. Wash hands when you get back home. Follow the instructions issued by the health ministry ".

In addition on 13 Jan. in Bago township 15 more COVID-19 infected patients were found , so that till date there have been 2860 infected patients and 21 deaths.
